Social Media for Business
Your Ideal Client
Social Media Marketing , like any marketing, is only effective if it reaches people who will spend money to buy your product or service. Understanding who your ideal client is and where they hangout, is key to having a successful marketing campaign.
Who’s Who
Social Media platforms identify their members as falling into the following age groups:
- 1946 to 1964: Baby Boomers
- 1965 to 1976: Generation X
- 1977 to 1995: Millennials or Gen Y
- 1996 to present: Gen Z, iGen, or Centennials
Your Ideal Client may fall into more than one of these categories; however, where they spend their time, and how you need to market to them may be different for each group.
Who’s Where
Social Media Demographics is all about who’s where when, how much time they spend, and what they engage in. If you know your ideal client, you will be able to identify which social media sites they most frequent and how to reach out to them. Now you’re able to target your marketing to get the biggest bang for your marketing effort.
Where do You Need to be?
Over the next weeks we will be looking at seven of the top Social Media sites:
Facebook
Instagram
Twitter
LinkedIn
Pinterest
Snapchat
YouTube
We will look at the demographics for each site so you can determine where your ideal client hangs out. We will also look at how best to engage your audience, and what tools are available. Yes, that includes paid advertising.
